Delta Pack looks ahead after CPO forces move

- Tamlyn Jones Business Correspondent

ABIRMINGHAM-BASED packaging manufacturer has relocated to a new home after being forced to leave its old HQ.

Delta Pack has moved its operation from the Priory Business Centre, in Aston, to make way for the second phase of the Advanced Manufacturing Hub development.

The company, which manufacturers plain and bespoke-print paper bags, has relocated to Tamebridge Industrial Estate, in Perry Barr.

Delta Pack received confirmation of the compulsory purchase order (CPO) in late 2017.

Aslam Anwar, Delta Pack’s managing director, said: “The move has proven to be a positive one for the company.

“We look forward to building on our expertise in the diversified packaging industry to increase our market share and to continue to provide our customers with a quality product and excellent levels of service and support.”

The relocation was facilitated by commercial property consultancy FHP which specialises in assisting businesses and individuals compulsorily acquired or affected by a scheme of public works.

Director Andrew Chapman added: “We are pleased to have facilitated Delta Pack’s move to suitable premises and to have settled a claim with Birmingham City Council upon a full and final basis.

“There is considerable demand from potential occupiers for industrial units close to the M6 which is being intensified by businesses being displaced from their existing premises by HS2, the Commonwealth Games and other redevelopment schemes.

“CPO is often seen as the death knell for many businesses but it doesn’t need to be that way if handled correctly.

“In this case, it was imperative that we ensured that cash was coming back into the business through a series of claims for advance payments, enabling the client to focus on day-to-day operations.

“It is extremely satisfying to assist a business in overcoming such adversity and I’m certain that Delta Pack will go from strength to strength in its new home.”

The Advanced Manufacturing Hub is being developed on land off the A5127 near Aston railway station and is close to Junction 6 of the M6.

It has already attracted HydraForce, Salts Healthcare and Guhring as occupiers.
