Whitecap in plan to grow after moving to city centre

-

A BUSINESS consultancy headquartered in Yorkshire is eyeing expansion into the Midlands market by launching its first office in the region.

Whitecap Consulting was founded in 2012 and specialises in helping clients analyse, develop and implement growth strategies, typically working with mid-sized firms and divisions of corporations.

It has now opened a new base in Birmingham city centre, joining its other operations in Bristol, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle and its head office in Leeds.

Whitecap Consulting is working with the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership to conduct analysis of the fintech sector in the West Midlands and also counts Dudley Building Society among its current client roster.

The firm has appointed David Mellor as associate director for the Midlands and to lead the new Birmingham base in Alpha Tower.

Mr Mellor previously worked for business consultancy MDW Projects, logistics outfit Wincanton and manufacturer Heimdall Protective Tech, all in the West Midlands.

Whitecap’s managing director Richard Coates said: “We are very pleased to have opened a Birmingham office and I’m delighted that David is helping drive our regional expansion in the Midlands.

“David’s background, skills, experience and attitude all complement the team very well.

“He has immediately engaged with regional stakeholders on a range of engagements across our practice areas.

“To complement this, we are also adding a new sector based on David’s experience in logistics which, like many others, is experiencing considerable change and disruption.”

Mr Mellor added: “I’m proud to have joined Whitecap and I hope our launch in the Midlands can contribute to the optimistic mood of the region and the many positive changes going on in the area.

“I have been struck by the energy, openness and determination of the region’s stakeholders and am looking forward to bringing a new specialism to the Whitecap team in logistics, a dynamic and critical driver of both the regional and national economy.”
