Technology changing how we work flexibly from home

-

MORE than two-thirds of global employees work remotely every week and more than 50 per cent do so for at least half of the week.

That is according to a 2019 survey of 15,000 business people globally by the International Workspace Group (IWG), the parent company of flexible workspace brands such as Regus and Spaces.

This mobile, and sometimes remote, workforce is enabled by digital technology that has transformed the way we work today in the UK and globally and has enabled businesspeople to run their companies from an office, café, their own kitchen tables or any location around the world.

The has teamed up with IWG to host a free business breakfast networking event which will examine this new wave of flexible working.

Among the themes to be discussed will be how easy it is for workers to plug in and communicate, collaborate and do business from anywhere in the world.

Delegates will also hear how a more collaborative space, filled with like-minded businesses and people and built around the premise of co-working, can foster greater creativity.

The panel discussion will be led Marc Reeves, editor-in-chief of

publisher Reach Midlands, with Richard Morris, UK chief executive of Regus’ parent company IWG.

They will be joined by senior executives from two Birmingham tech firms – Stuart Renshaw, head of global growth with Whisk, and Chris Purdie, group commercial director of PM Connect.

Both Stuart and Chris will be able to discuss first-hand their own experiences of running their companies from global locations.

The event takes place on Thursday January 23 at Regus Victoria Square, One Victoria Square, Birmingham, from 8.30am to 10.30am.
