TRIED & TESTED

MULTI-USE BALMS TO SOOTHE AND SOFTEN SKIN

-

HONEST BEAUTY MAGIC BEAUTY BALM £16, Boots & boots.com

WE applied this every few hours to dry patches and lips. It wasn’t greasy, but didn’t seem to stay on very long, even though it claims to last eight hours. We had to reapply a lot and made it through the pot quickly. Easy to use and nice texture, but not powerful enough to get rid of very dry skin.

MALIN+GOETZ MEADOWFOAM OIL BALM £38, malinandgoetz.com

THIS silky, oil-like cream is made with 17 botanical oils. It melted into dry skin leaving no residue, just a soft sheen with a mild and fresh fragrance. This is now a hero product for us. Will definitely be buying again.

AGE DEFY+ BY CHA VøHTZ ULTIMATE WONDER BALM £32, green people.co.uk

SMELLS amazing and is as thick as lemon curd. It can be used as a cleanser, overnight mask, or on any dry patches, but we used it all over face as a moisturiser – so much of it on the first night that it took an hour to absorb. But skin was amazingly soft and glowy the next day.

DR PAW PAW RICH MOCHA BALM £6.95, feelunique.com

USED on sore, dry lips, this thick balm honestly improved them so much – they felt softer and less dry within two days. The slightly nude tint was a nice bonus, too, and we also added a dab of it on cheeks for some colour.

L’OCCITANE LE PETIT REMèDE £30, uk.loccitane. com

WE used this on lips, nose, elbows and a few dark dry spots on face and body that used to be blemishes. It’s a great consistency, smells lovely (the ingredients are all natural oils), isn’t too greasy and made every area we used it on softer.
