-

AN INTERIOR design firm has added to its team in Birmingham.

Jewellery Quarter-based Estilo Interiors, which specialises in the design and fit out of commercial properties, has recruited senior designer Derek Matthews and new business manager Kerry Leigh Pearson.

Mr Matthews specialises in corporate workplace interiors and recently designed the fit-out of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ new HQ at 55 Colmore Row in Birmingham city centre. He has spent the past 20 years with architectural interiors firm Monteith Scott.

Ms Pearson has joined its furniture consultancy arm, having previously been a director at commercial furniture firm Studio44 in Coventry.

She will now focus on winning standalone contracts and specifying furniture for Estilo’s design and build fit-out projects.

Managing director Andrew Moore said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has put the spotlight on workspaces.

“Many businesses are re-evaluating how their accommodation works and how to return to full functionality.

“Some are reconfiguring their space, with others taking the opportunity for transformational change. We have invested in top talent to ensure we can provide creative and effective solutions.

“It’s great to have them both on the team.”
