Life was good but tougher, admits Kerim

-

KERIM Mrabti is still looking for a club following his release by Blues. The Swede was allowed to leave at the end of June, with the club deciding not to take up the option in his contract.

That brought to an end an 18-month stay at St Andrew’s, which featured 27 matches and three goals for the attacker.

However, he is yet to sign for another club, despite the fact he was linked with Trabzonspor and Hamburg, and has instead returned to training with his former employers Djurgarden.

“I will probably train with Djurgarden for a while now, then we’ll see,” said Mrabti. “It’s still a bit unclear. I feel like I want to see what happens. I have definitely not closed any doors for Djurgarden, but I want to see if there is any last thing I can do before I come back.” Mrabti also spoke about his time with Blues, which saw him start only 20 games and fail to cement a regular place under Garry Monk and, this season, Pep Clotet.

“It has been good. It has been a little different with football there, you notice it immediately. It’s a little tougher,’’ he said.

“But it has been good for me, both as a person and the football part. I have enjoyed both the city and the life in England.”

Bosse Andersson, the sporting director of Djurgardens, said: “I know about his situation. It’s a pretty tough time when it comes to football these days.

“As for what his future looks like... we have no contact for him to play in Djurgarden, but I think Djurgarden has a special place in his heart.”
