INSIDE VIRGIN GALACTIC

VIRGIN Galactic has revealed new images that show the inside of its space-tourism vehicle… and it looks as futuristic as you would hope.

The six passenger seats inside the spacecraft are spaced far apart, and portals will offer spectacular views of Earth.

There’s also a big mirror at one end of the cabin – designed to allow the passengers to see themselves in space.

The Virgin Galactic ship has so far been on two test flights that have made it into space, and has more test flights planned.

So far no timeline has been revealed as to when the service will actually start running.

Until it does, you can experience the cabin and the ship itself in augmented reality by downloading the Virgin Galactic app.

Google will allow you to inspect a host of insects in AR from its search results

GOOGLE’S CREEPY CRAWLIES

SPEAKING of augmented reality, Google has just updated its AR offering to allow you to see a whole host of insects (at larger-than-life size) buzzing around your home. I have no idea why anyone would want to do that, but the option is there nevertheless.

Search, say, for a dragonfly, and in the results you will get an option to “See in 3D”, which will then allow you to ‘place’ the creature in your room and explore it through your phone’s screen

The insects join a large number of other animals, including big cats, bears, and even dinosaurs, that you can experience in AR through Google’s search.

You’ll need a compatible Android phone, an iPhone or iPad to experience the 3D models – and you can even take pictures of yourself posing with them…
