Adventure golf course plans for the Bullring

-

AN ADVENTURE golf course is being built within Birmingham’s largest shopping centre.

Treetop Adventure Golf has announced plans to invest £2.5 million creating two 18-hole, mini-golf courses inside the Bullring.

The company has signed a 25-year lease deal for the 17,000 sq ft unit previously occupied by fashion chain Forever 21 and is due to open the new venue next spring.

The courses will be called Tropical Trail and Ancient Explorer and there will be a bonus 19th hole which will give guests the chance to win a free round. There will also be food and drink outlets, a cocktail bar and café.

It will be the fourth UK site in the company’s portfolio, joining sister venues in Manchester, Leicester and its first in Cardiff which opened five years ago.

Chief executive and co-founder Elizabeth Stanway said: “We’re really excited to be bringing our rainforest to Birmingham and we’ll be investing over £2.5 million into the experience for our guests.

“The Bullring is a true landmark location and we’re looking forward to working with the Hammerson team to add a unique experience for the centre visitors.

“We can’t wait to be a part of the fantastic offering at Bullring.”

Iain Mitchell, UK commercial director at Hammerson, which coowns and manages Bullring, added: “It’s clear that now, more than ever, consumers are looking for a memorable experience, something they can share with their friends and family. Treetop Adventure Golf delivers that in spades and I am certain it will be a great addition to Bullring, following its successful opening with us at Highcross in Leicester last year.
