Iconic films paired with top tipples

-

MILLENNIUM Point has announced two new immersive film screenings coming to its big screen this autumn.

The Birmingham venue’s auditorium (formerly the IMAX cinema) will show two iconic movies – Ghostbusters and Back to the Future.

Both screenings will include a host of drinks plus movie trivia, in partnership with The Wine Events Company.

Visitors can celebrate Halloween in style on Friday, October 30 with classic Eighties film Ghostbusters. The Wine Events Company will be serving up several themed cocktails for guests as they enjoy the film.

There will also be live cocktail-making demos and fun movie trivia.

The Wine Events Company returns to Millennium Point on November 12 for a screening of Back to the Future, celebrating its 35th birthday.

Wine buff Tony Elvin has carefully selected five tipples for guests to enjoy as the film plays.

Tony said: “We are very excited to team up with Millennium Point and bring our theatrical ‘movie with drinks’ experiences to such a stunning venue. Being able to deliver an event with plenty of social distancing space is fantastic for everyone and means they can truly relax and have a bit of fun.”

The events team at Millennium Point has introduced a number of measures to ensure that the socially distanced screenings are safe for all to enjoy. These include reduced capacity in the auditorium from 354 to 181, with all seats allocated beforehand, as well as hand sanitising stations throughout the venue.

Rebecca Delmore, commercial director at Millennium Point, said: “The launch of our socially distanced cinema has been such a success that for the next series of films we wanted to take it one step further and really offer our visitors something new and unique to enjoy.

“We’ve teamed up with the brilliant Wine Events Company to create two really exciting events, unlike anything we’ve done before.”
