ALICIA’S BARE-FACED CHIC
SHE famously swerves wearing cosmetics, so it makes sense that Alicia Keys’ new beauty range is all about skincare and self-care rather than make-up. The singer has just launched Keys Soulcare, a lifestyle line that’s making its debut with Skin Transformation Cream, £30, and the Obsidian Roller, £25, plus a beautifully fragrant Sage + Oat Milk Scented Candle, £35, to relax and meditate with.
So, even if your complexion isn’t as naturally flawless as Alicia’s, the dimly lit flicker will make the best of it while you chill. Find it at cultbeauty.com
FEELING FRUITY
CHECK out these super-cute Eau de Juice fragrances. Priced £29.50 each, they are packaged like cartons of Del Monte juices and come with notes of red berry, strawberry, apple and mandarin. Find them at thefragranceshop.co.uk
A skincare essential, LAURA MULLEY puts cleansers to the test
GEL HERBIVORE PINK CLOUD CREAMY JELLY CLEANSER £22, cultbeauty.co.uk PEARLY pink and flecked with bubbles, this looks more like the inside of a crystal ball than a face wash – top marks for aesthetic appeal – and has a subtle coconut and rose fragrance. Although not a make-up remover, it leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. A joy to have in the bathroom.
CREAM INDEED LABS HYDRALURON CREAM CLEANSER
feelunique.com, £19.99 A GOOD, basic, suits-all cream cleanser. It rinses away easily, and while it won’t remove eye make-up, it does leave skin soft and smooth, thanks to papaya enzymes and hyaluronic acid. If you’re unsure what your skin needs, you can’t go wrong.
BALM
E.L.F. Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm elfcosmetics.co.uk, £10 THIS solid balm immediately liquifies on the skin, making light work of my make-up when I wipe it off with a warm, damp flannel and doesn’t leave an oily residue. No luxurious fragrance, but it rivals balms five times its price for make-up removal. Brilliant.
MICELLAR CAUDALíE VINOCLEAN MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
johnlewis.com, £15 I LIKE quite a heavy base, and I’ve found it difficult to get a cleanser that removes all my make-up quickly and efficiently – but this does it brilliantly. After sweeping it over my face on a cotton pad, my skin is left feeling soft and refreshed. I love it.
OIL TYPOLOGY 7 INGREDIENTS CLEANSING OIL
uk.typology.com, £14.80
I’VE never found cleansing oil as effective at shifting make-up as a balm, but this, soaked on to a cotton pad, made short work of even my most stubborn mascara. Although the glow from the oil disappeared after I rinsed it off, I’ll be happy to swap my usual eye make-up remover for this.
