Bowyer’s a real class act insists Gary
GARY Gardner believes Lee Bowyer is a ‘class manager’ and insists all of Birmingham City’s players are fully behind their new boss.
Bowyer, who enjoyed a successful spell at St Andrew’s as a player, has made an instant impact in the dugout with two victories from his first four matches since replacing Aitor Karanka.
Good Friday’s win over promotion-chasing Swansea City, sealed by Scott Hogan’s stoppage time penalty, lifted Blues six points clear of the relegation zone. They followed that up with a creditable point away at Brentford.
“You can tell he is a real class manager,” said midfielder
Gardner.
“He has only been here a short amount of time but, what he has put on to us lads, we are really impressed.
“Everything is so clear and he has just made it so simple for us. We’ve played three of the top six under him and got six points.
“Brentford will be another tough game and I’m sure the gaffer and the staff are working really hard on preparing for that and it just makes it easier for us players.
“He has come in and is a breath of fresh air.
“He knows what it takes to wear the Blues top.
“He has done really well at Charlton and we’ve worked really hard on the team shape and the way we want to win.
“You could see against Swansea, a very disciplined performance and he has drilled that into us.
“Over the international break we’ve worked hard, not just physically but mentally as well, watching clips of Swansea and teams like that and it showed tonight, hard work pays off.”
