Your festive message can help young homeless people
IT’S that time of year again – and once more the Birmingham Post has teamed up with St Basils homelessness charity to bring you ‘Your card’s in the Post’.
It’s a great sustainable way for Midland businesses to say Merry Christmas to their clients.
In December the Post will publish your businesses Christmas wishes to your clients and contacts in exchange for a donation to St Basils Homelessness charity to fund their vital work.
St Basils is the largest charity working with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the West Midlands, helping thousands of young people per year.
They have a range of prevention, accommodation, and support services to help young people regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives, gain skills, training, and employment, and move on, successfully breaking the cycle of homelessness.
Support is guided by the needs of young people, empowering
them to gain skills and opportunities for themselves. This means they can be in control of their own futures to bring about positive change, achieve their goals and move on successfully into further education or employment with a safe secure home.
Barrie Hodge, head of fundraising and communications, said: “This year has been very tough. Covid and rising energy bills coinciding with the cut in Universal Credit and the end of the furlough scheme has pushed the most vulnerable in our society to breaking point. Many families and young people are finding it increasingly hard to manage and more debt will be the inevitable consequence. This stress and worry of financial crisis leading to family breakdown and many people in fear of losing their home. Our services are needed more than ever to offer much needed support.
“We are so grateful to all the amazing fundraisers and businesses who sign up to initiatives like ‘Your card’s in the Post’ enabling us to continue in our fight to end homelessness”
Send your firm’s festive wishes to the details below. Closing date is December 10.
