Housing drop-in session

-

A drop-in event will be held at the Rattray Community Connect building on Wednesday this week, hosted by developers behind proposals to build an additional 220 houses on Glenalmond Road.

Springfield Properties - the firm behind 80 new properties at Kinloch Gardens by the school - recently submitted a proposal of application notice (PAN) for the potential new development to Perth and Kinross Council.

The application by the Larbet-based developer is for a residential development of around 220 homes, landscaping, open space and associated infrastructure.

The PAN is the first stage in the planning application process for a major development.

The developer is required to submit the notice 12 weeks before a planning application is made to the council and outline its plans for consulting with the local community before any planning application is made.

Speaking at the most recent meeting of Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council, held last week in Rattray Church Hall, community councillor Gordon Darge said: “Springfield Properties are one of Scotland’s biggest developers and this is classed as a major planning application, which is why they have to hold these public consultation events.

“I would encourage everyone to go along to the drop-in session, find out more about the proposals and let us know what they think.”

Members of the public will be able to comment on the proposals to the developers between 1pm and 7pm.
