Garden events being set-upin Coupar Angus

-

Volunteers at the Coupar Angus community garden have organised a number of free events over the coming weeks.

From 4-6pm on Saturday this week, Ragnar Ulfskar will lead an introduction to basic bushcraft skills such as fire building, navigation and shelter making.

The next skill sharing event will be from 1-3pm on July 2 when local artist Alison Knight will help budding artists explore nature using different mediums and colours.

From 3-5pm on July 14, community gardener Sharon Dismore will lead a workshop on various different items that can be made out of pallets and how to dismantle, reuse and recycle them.

There will also be two ‘bring and share’ events at the gardens.

The first takes place from 3-7pm on Sunday this week, with a follow up between the same times on July 3.

The idea is that people come along and help in the garden for a couple of hours and then enjoy a shared meal.

Sharon explained: “The garden activity will get under way at 3pm and we would ask that each person who comes brings a ‘dish’ which we will put all together on one table to create a meal for all who attend.

“We will also provide food from the gardens and pizza from the cob oven.

“This is a real community event with people of all ages and gardening abilities welcome to come along and join in.”

Anyone heading along is asked to bring their own plate and cutlery.

For more information, or to offer to share a skill, contact Sharon on 07833 938536.

To book a place on any of the free workshops, text 07833 938536 stating your name and which workshop you wish to attend.
