Popular stage musical goes down a treat at Newhill
Talented pupils at Newhill Primary School delighted packed audiences at Blairgowrie Community Campus with their performance of Joseph last week.
Weeks of rehearsals and hard work paid off with the youngsters relishing their roles.
Talented pupils at Newhill Primary School delighted packed audiences at Blairgowrie Community Campus with their performance of Joseph last week.
Weeks of rehearsals and hard work paid off with the youngsters relishing their roles in the popular musical and tackling some technically difficult songs with confidence.
And there was great support from the local community as lots of justifiably proud parents, grandparents, families and friends turned out for the three performances.
All the cast did fantastically well, with some strong vocal performances from Euan Douglas and Lance Barker as Joseph and from the narrators Monique McDonald, Caitlin Downey, Grace Anderson, Nicole Rattray and Esther Douglas.
The band of brothers had great fun with their roles, embracing a variety of musical styles, as did Fergus Thomson and Hamish Lumsden as Potiphar and Frazer Stewart and Jamie Duncan as Pharaoh.
Head teacher at the school, Fiona Patton, thanked everyone for coming and congratulated the cast on their sterling efforts.
And music teacher at the school, Iona Johnston, who coordinated the whole show, was presented with flowers by the cast as thanks for all her hard work.
