One-way viewsare wanted
Locals have been asked for their views on whether a one-way system should be introduced on Woodlands Road in Blairgowrie.
The proposal came to light at the most recent meeting of Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council, held in Rattray Church earlier this month.
Local Blairgowrie and the Glens ward councillor Caroline Shiers said: “I accept there is an issue there but I am not convinced that a one-way system is the best solution.
“It would be useful to hear how people feel about this and if they have any suggestions on how to alleviate the concerns raised.”
A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “The council’s traffic and network team recently met with residents of Woodlands Road to discuss road safety issues regarding walking routes to school.
“At the meeting, a suggestion to introduce a one-way system along Woodlands Road to create more space for both vehicles and pedestrians was raised.
“In line with normal practice, the council is now inviting local councillors, members of Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council and the residents along Woodland Road to provide their feedback on this idea, by the end of August.
“There are no formal proposals at this stage and we will report back the findings along with recommendations in due course.”
