Prizes at Kettins PS
Awards for achievement
Pupils’ successes were recognised at a special achievement ceremony held recently by Kettins Primary School.
Awards were presented for achievement and behaviour, and the P7 leavers were also presented with a graduation cap and Wordle toy from the pupils – and a framed school photo, high school tie and a pen drive from the school staff.
The house championship trophy, donated by the Scottish Communications Group, was this year presented to Hallyburton, captained by Tom MacDougall.
The house sports shield was this year won by Pitcur with 265 points, although it was a closely fought contest with second placed Baldowrie just one point behind and Hallyburton third with 253 points.
The awards were presented by Strathmore councillor Alan Grant, as well as Rev Alison Notman and local fruit farmer Andy Barrie, a former pupil and friend of the school.
Thanking everyone for their support of the school, head teacher Joanna Roberston said: “Our achievement evening gives the pupils the opportunity to showcase their talents and successes over the school year, and this year we have been particularly proud of our pupils. Our pupils have represented Kettins Primary wonderfully this year. They have excelled not only academically, but have also received regional and national recognition in sporting and creative events too.
“I’d like to thank our parents, grandparents, other relatives and carers for the support you have shown the school this academic session.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved with our school for the support you have given over the last session.’’
