Coupar Angus Juniors played out a 2-2 draw with Coupar Angus AFC on Saturday afternoon.

Logan McConachie’s side now welcome Bank Street Amateurs to Foxhall Park on Thursday evening.

In transfer news, the east Perthshire side have brought attacking midfielder Struan Doherty back to the club.

He comes in on loan from East Premier League side Forfar West End.

Posting on the club’s Facebook page, Logan said: “I’m a big fan of Straun – he’s athletic, tidy on the ball and can play anywhere across the top, which is great.

“We’ve got a good relationship with West End and they’ve been good enough to allow us to have Straun again for another season”.

Defender Jonathan White has also returned to Foxhall Park after a threeyear absence.

He has been training with the club during the pre-season schedule and has made a good impression on the manager.

Logan continued: “Jonathan has shown a great attitude – he has been powering away at our sessions to get himself up to a high standard of fitness.

“It’s tough coming back from an injury like his, but you wouldn’t know it looking at him play.

“He’s a good addition to the defensive side of our squad.”

Another new addition for the North Division outfit is creative midfielder Joe Sturrock, who has been snapped up by the manager after impressing the coaching team in the first few sessions of pre-season.

Logan added: “Joe’s a great lad and has really impressed us in the short time he’s been here.

“He’s had experience in the Juniors already. We’ve had him watched a couple of times last season when he was at Jeanfield U21s too. He’ll be a good fit in our squad.”

On the coaching front, Rab Murdoch has joined the club after working most recently with amateur side Auchterarder Primrose.

“He’s an enthusiastic coach that has similar thought process towards the game as myself,” Logan explained.

He went on: “Rab’s also not afraid to put his opinion across and that’s exactly what I was after.”

The club is still on the lookout for another addition to the backroom staff – as well as volunteers to help out with preparing the senior side’s kit, media and hosting visitors and sponsors on match days.

Appealing for anyone interested to get in touch via social media, Logan concluded: “We’re almost there. Ideally, we’re looking for one more to join our coaching team, more of an assistant to myself.

“I’ve met with a couple of guys but it’s not been what we’re looking for at this moment in time.

“I want to make sure we’ve got the right people on board at the club to bring us forward, not just anyone.”
