Dipping for dragons in east Perthshire!
Nature lovers have a chance to join Perthshire Wildlife on Tuesday next week for a fun, family guided nature walk at Drumore Loch to discover fascinating facts about dragonflies and damselflies.
The walk takes place on Tuesday, August 9, from 1pm until 2.30pm and organisers say that at least five species of dragonfly – including common blue damselfly, blue-tailed damselfly, emerald damselfly, black darter and common hawker – should be spotted.
Dragonfly survival games, identifying adult dragons and pond dipping also feature as part of the walk to keep both children and adults entertained.
Participants should park at Ecocamp Glenshee, Blacklunans, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH10 7LA and walk to Drumore Loch to meet at 1pm.
The route from Ecocamp is about one and a half miles long and follows a quiet road. At the loch the group will stay on the flatter areas but sturdy shoes and warm clothes and waterproofs are recommended.
Places on the walk are limited to 12 so early booking at www. perthshirewildlife.co.uk/events is advised.
A map of the location and meeting point will be e-mailed on booking.
Tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £5 for children, or £15 for a family ticket (maximum of two adults and two children per family ticket).
