In the Home Industries section at the Strathardl­e Gathering, the Jubilee Rosebowl special prize – this year for a Battenburg cake – was won by Morag Houstoun, Glenkilrie.

Judges were: Kate Imlay (cookery); Muriel Brown (handcrafts) and Steven Mitchell (garden produce).

The children’s section and hobby prize winners were decided by all the judges. Other trophy winners were as follows:

Cookery, most points (Sinagoca Cup) - Fiona Cochrane, Sillerburn. Runner-up - Helen Martin, Balnamenoc­h.

Best exhibit in cookery (Elizabeth Cairns Quaich) Brenda Davys, Ardle Lodge, Enochdhu (bagels).

Best exhibit in hobby class (Mary Milne Memorial Trophy) - Helen McNee, Glenshee (painting).

Knitting and Handcrafts (Balfour Cup) - Grace Mackay, Monkscally Cottage, Bridge of Cally. Runner-up - Fiona Cochrane.

Best exhibit in knitting and handcrafts (Glenisla Shield) - Grace McKay, Bridge of Cally (silk table centre).

Flowers (Evans Cup) Maggie Lascelles, Straloch, Enochdhu. Runner-up Olivia Martyn, Soilzarie.

Vegetables (Inchyra Cup) - Elaine Walker, Ardlebank. Runner-up equal - Buchan Cally and Myles Goodman, The Old Dairy.

Best exhibit in garden produce (Coronation Cup) - Olivia Martyn (vase of garden flowers).

Most outstandin­g child’s exhibit (Mandy Duncan Cup) - Polly Goodman (woven basket).

Most points in secondary section (Balnald Cup) - Claire McIldowie, Kirriemuir. Runner-up Ellie Sanders.
