Local funding chance
Local MP for Perth and North Perthshire, Pete Wishart, is encouraging environmental groups in the area to apply for a share of a £1.5 million funding pot to help with any projects they have that need funding to get off the ground.
Postcode Local Trust - a grant-giving charity funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery - has opened its latest funding round and the threw the broken tumbler at the other woman, striking her on the face.
She was arrested around 11.15pm and repeatedly kicked PC Ferguson on the leg after they arrived in Perth.
Fortunately Miss Scott’s injuries didn’t require stitches and the police officer escaped with grazing to his leg.
A solicitor for the accused said she had been suffering from “untreated depressive illness” at the time.
Her mental health difficulties became worse and her alcohol use at the time had contributed to her behaviour.
“She accepts the seriousness of the charges against her.
“Luckily the injuries were not particularly serious.”
Whitson, of Moredunvale Green, Edinburgh, was allowed 12 months to complete the unpaid work and will also be supervised by a social worker during that time. deadline for applications is this Friday, September 30 at 5pm.
Mr Wishart said: “Applying for this fund could just be the catalyst for getting your project off the ground.
“This is an exciting prospect for any local environmental groups that are in need of an extra funding boost and I’d urge them to get their applications in before the deadline.”
The type of projects that are likely to be funded will improve local ecology and habitats, encourage bio-diversity and benefit the wider environment.
Groups can apply for funding ranging from £500 up to £20,000.
