Funnyman Fred is to headline gig for charity

-

Fred MacAulay is the headline stand-up act for an upcoming comedy night to raise funds a charity dedicated to educating children across the region about food, farming and the countryside.

The evening takes place at Blairgowrie Town Hall from 7.30pm on Friday, November 11, and is in aid of the local branch of the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET).

Fred, who attended Rattray Primary and Blairgowrie High School in his youth, will be supported by number of talented locals.

Host Bruce Fummey will be joined by fellow funnymen Christopher MacArthur-Boyd and Jim Smith.

Jim is a former chair of the RHET Perth and Kinross Countryside Initiative and is still an active committee member and volunteer who is well known across Perthshire for his rural humour and impressions.

Alix Ritchie, RHET project coordinator for the local area, said: “We are delighted that Fred will be performing at our comedy night.

“Hopefully it will raise the profile of RHET within Perth and Kinross and highlight the importance of teaching children about food, farming and the countryside.

“We rely entirely on fundraising and donations to continue to provide free on-farm and in-class education to three to 18-year-olds across the region.”

The gig is for those over the age of 18 years.
