Duncanson lifts Legacy Cup

The second Legacy Cup, introduced after the 2014 Ryder and Junior Ryder Cups, was recently played over the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles and Blairgowrie GC’s Rosemount track.

Sponsored by Highland Spring, a field of 72 players competed on two mild but blustery days for the trophy donated by the European Tour.

The first round, contested at Gleneagles, witnessed Murray Duncanson and Johnnie Montgomery lead the field with 34 stableford points. Carol McNally, with 27, was out in front for the ladies.

With a shotgun start the following day on Rosemount, McNally recorded an impressive 41 points but Duncanson maintained form to return 38 points and clinch the coveted trophy by four shots.

Entry forms for the 2017 competition will be available from October 3.
