New names boost squad

-

Coupar Angus Juniors’ match against Dundee North End on Saturday was called off due to the Foxhall Park pitch being unplayable.

There was more positive news for the club recently, however, after it was announced Blair Fleming signed on loan from Forfar West End.

Coupar boss Logan McConachie said he thought the midfielder would be a useful addition to his squad.

The manager said: “Blair is a strong and technically good player, which has helped us greatly in the middle of the park.

“He’s had to focus a bit more on defending and has done very well in adding it to his game, as he has an attacking and forwardthinking nature.

“Once we add goals to his game, there will be no stopping him!”

Fellow new recruit Chris Liversedge is a product of the Aberdeen Youth Academy and played for Banks O’ Dee before heading to Dundee University to study dentistry.

Logan said of the former Carnoustie Panmure player: “Chris is the type of player that pulls off the unexpected.

“He’s very quick and direct so teams struggle to contain him. He’s been a welcome addition to the squad.”

A number of other player have left Coupar Angus by mutual consent in recent weeks, many of whom are now playing in amateur football.

Coupar Angus are at home to Forth Wanderers in the Scottish Junior Cup on Saturday in a 2.30pm kick-off.
