Kite mark award for ski school
Fresh Tracks Glenshee‘s recognition from association
Glenshee Ski Centre received a boost ahead of the imminent start of the winter sports season after its ski school achieved a sought-after industry endorsement.
Fresh Tracks Glenshee, owned and run by Annie Bryden and Alan McClement, has become the iconic resort’s first ski school to receive a quality assurance kite mark from the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI).
The firm was formed by Annie and Alan in 2011 and was formerly known as Cairdsport, Glenshee Ski School – the latter established by Derek Brightman and Sandy Caird in 1960, when Glenshee first opened.
In addition to offering private lessons to individuals and groups, Fresh Tracks is also home to the popular Happy Feet and Rockhopper children’s clubs.
It employs more than 25 instructors, all of whom are qualified to the appropriate BASI level – the UK’s approved body for the training and licensing of professional snowsport instructors.
In order to achieve the kite mark, Fresh Tracks was inspected towards the end of the season last year and will be re-assessed every three years.
In a joint statement, coowners Annie and Alan said: “We are very proud of our team here at Fresh Tracks.
“They have invested considerable time, effort and money to become qualified instructors and are all dedicated to the success and professional standards of the school. Achieving this award is a reflection of the hard work that our team puts in, from our booking staff and hire team right through to instructors.
“They are all dedicated to getting it right for every Fresh Tracks customer.
BASI’s Quality Assurance Programme has helped us ensure that we have all the right procedures, staff training and infrastructure in place so that we can deliver snowsports lessons in a safe and enjoyable way.
“It’s been a valuable experience for everyone.”
