First win ofthe season for CJFC

-

Coupar Angus Juniors boss Logan McConachie admits the dressing room was “electric” after picking up their first win of the North Division season.

The east Perthshire side defeated Lochore Welfare 4-0 away from home on Saturday courtesy of goals from Tom Casey, Chris Liversedge (2) and Alex Gibb.

It was a result which moves Coupar off the foot of the table.

Reflecting on the afternoon, Logan said: “The atmosphere in the changing room was electric after the game.

“Ask anyone in the squad and they’ll tell you the spirit is genuinely positive anyway.

“The guys were chuffed and are already champing at the bit for their next challenge.

“It was great to finally get a win under our belts.

“The guys thoroughly deserved it. It summed up all our hard work this season and what we can achieve when we stick to our plan.

“Since our Lochee Harp defeat, we’ve known it was only a matter of time before we pull out a strong performance and positive result.

“We’ve went toe-to-toe with most teams this season and the past three or four weeks I’d now say we are confident enough to be able to get points off of most teams in our league.”

Coupar are away to Newburgh on Saturday.

The league tie kicks off at 1.45pm.
