Spacesat Rattray soccer school

-

There was another good turnout at the new soccer school sessions in Rattray on Saturday.

The sessions, run by Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Football Club (BRCFC), are for boys in P2-3 and girls aged 6-8.

Tom McCabe from the Scottish Football Association led the session, assisted by local coaches Rebecca Foote and Alex Petrie, and the emphasis is on fun with a mixture of games and football drills.

BRCFC chair Sandy Thomson, said: “It would not have been possible to get this project off the ground without the valuable assistance provided by the Clydesale Bank through the Scottish Football Partnership.

“BRCFC is extremely grateful to the Scottish Football Partnership and the Clydesdale Bank for their award, which has allowed us to purchase new footballs, bibs, cones and portable goals.

“The award has enabled the club to get a new soccer school format off the ground as the equipment will be used indoors over the winter months, enabling them to be ready in the spring to take part and enjoy fun fours football.

“These kinds of awards help new ventures like this to hit the ground running without having to worry about finance.”

There are still spaces available at the soccer school, which meets at the Rattray Community Connect building every Saturday at 9.30am for the boys and 10.30am for the girls. Sessions cost £2.

For more information see the club’s Facebook page or email admin@brcfc.org.uk

A meeting for parents of girls involved in BRCFC is to take place this Wednesday, November 23, at 6.45pm in the Rattray Community Connect building.

It will explain the plans for the section next year.
