Santa lights up Blair
Christmas fundraiser
Father Christmas had a very busy tour of Blairgowrie and Rattray in his sleigh last week, helping to support volunteers for the town’s Illuminations Committee who were raising much-needed funds for the lights display.
During his tour, which realised around £1500 for the Illuminations Committee, Santa spent time chatting to children from the area.
Volunteers from the Illuminations Committee thanked everyone for their support and generosity and said that the money would be put towards new lights for the town for next year.
Father Christmas added that he was pleased to have been able to help out and was looking forward to coming back to see the new lights next year.
He said: “Christmas comes once a year and it is the busiest time of my working year.
“It was great to be able to visit Blairgowrie and Rattray and also Kirkmichael and Glenshee.
“The children I spoke to were so wonderful and polite telling me what they would like to see under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning.
“The volunteers from the Blairgowrie and Rattray Illuminations Committee are just fantastic and do a fantastic job and it was a joy to meet them all and chat to them too. Some of them told me what they wanted as well.
“I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy NewYear.”
