We’ve introduced SSE Boiler Rescue
More details of the proposed Dulater wind farm between Blairgowrie and Birnam have been lodged with the Scottish Government.
It comes ahead of inquiry and hearing sessions which, along with a site visit, are to be held in March and April.
The Gloucestershire-registered backers of the 17-turbine scheme, Ecotricity, have submitted further supporting documents which are now available for the public to view.
These are to explain in more detail the environmental statement, key to developments of this type.
If built, the scheme has the capacity to generate 57.8MW of power.
The Scottish Government’s planning and environmental appeals section was asked to decide on the matter last March and expected to rule on it in October. But that intimated date was passed and this month it announced that inquiry and hearing sessions will commence at 1pm on March 28 and run until April 3.
These will comprise an inquiry session on landscape and visual impacts and three hearing sessions on planning policy, tourism and economic impacts and planning conditions.
In October 2015 Perth and Kinross Council’s development management committee threw out the scheme.
Councillors unanimously rejected the application which would see turbines reaching 125m high on the Laighwood Estates landscape.
The PKC report concluded: “The proposal is not considered to comply with the overriding thrust of the Development Plan ... and should be refused.”
The proposed site is near to locations of special areas of scientific interest, as well as the River Tay (Dunkeld) National Scenic Area.
The additional documents from Ecotricity can be seen at Birnam Arts, Blairgowrie Library and Perth and Kinross Council’s Pullar House offices.
