Butterybank scheme needs your votes to win grant

-

“The idea was resurrected in 2006 and since then Forward Coupar Angus has taken the woodland project forward.

“We have now established over 600 trees on a formerly neglected site with stunning views across Strathmore to the Grampians beyond and are trying to improve the landscape, support biodiversity and create a place that the wider community can benefit from by adding access paths, information boards, family picnic benches and open outdoor training days, all of which need to be funded.

“This funding would enable this development to happen, for which we would be really grateful.”

Voting is open in stores now and until February 25. Customers can cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.

The other two projects in the running are based in Montrose and Perth.

Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative has already delivered more than £25million to in excess of 3000 projects up and down the UK.

Customers get the chance to vote for three different groups each month. At the end of each month, when votes are collected, three groups in each of Tesco’s regions will be awarded funding.

The Bags of Help scheme is permanently open for applications.

Anyone can nominate a project at any time – whether it’s Tesco customers, colleagues or the community groups themselves.

For further information on the Bags of Help initiative visit the website at www.tesco.com/ bagsofhelp or ask in any Tesco store – including the one on Blairgowrie’s Welton Road.
