Good craic on the menu at Irish-themed quiz

-

East Perthshire quiz lovers are reminded that an Irish-themed quiz is taking place in Cargill’s Bistro and Restaurant next week in the run-up to St Patrick’s Day.

The quiz, which takes place on Thursday, March 15 in the Lower Mill Street eaterie, is the latest event in the town’s second fundraising campaign to name a puppy for Guide Dogs Scotland.

It follows on from the success of a Scottish-themed quiz night held in Cargill’s in January which raised over £300 towards to the overall goal of £5000.

Lesley McDonald, owner of Cargill’s, is the driving force behind the campaign. She said:“There was a real buzz about the Scottish-themed quiz and a great atmosphere so we decided to hold an Irish-themed quiz in the run-up to St Patrick’s Day for our next fundraiser.

“We’re really looking forward to it, there are lots of fun Irish-themed prizes up for grabs and we can assure everyone it will be a good craic!”

The first Blairgowrie Name A Puppy campaign organised by Lesley raised £5000 for Guide Dogs Scotland and the puppy’s name, as chosen by members of the public, is Bramble.

The second puppy will also have a Blairgowrie-themed name as approved by Guide Dogs Scotland, chosen from the remaining shortlist of six names - Berry, Bluebell, Blair, Cargill, Newton or Rattray.

As before, people are able to make a donation of £1 and vote for their favourite choice of name.

Voting jars are located in various local businesses.

The quiz gets underway at 7.30pm and is open to teams of four people, with entry £5 per person. All proceeds to Guide Dogs Scotland.

There will be a prize for each member of the winning team and a raffle.

A pre-quiz set menu is available for £10 from 5pm to last orders at 6pm.

The quiz and the pre-quiz meal must be booked in advance by contacting 01250 876735 or info@ cargillsbistro.com
