Views on Meigle pavilion

-

East Perthshire residents are reminded that there is an open day on Saturday, March 25 at the pavilion in Victory Park in Meigle to look at plans to improve sports and recreation facilities in the village.

A group of sports clubs and interested residents in Meigle have got together to develop the project and the community consultation is part of those plans.

A spokesperson for the group said: “The current pavilion has served the village and sport in Meigle well since it was built in 1976. It is a well used but tired facility.

“Our aim is to build a new, multi-purpose facility to serve the village and surrounding community for the coming years.

“We have held initial discussions with groups including the Meigle Victory Park Committee, Meigle Cricket Club, Meigle Vics football team, the local Taekwondo Club but we are now looking for views from the wider community and importantly any other groups who would like to use new, modern facilities.

“This is the first step in a process that aims to hear what the community have to say about the current facilities on offer and to gather views and opinions of what you would like to see in the future.

“This is an exciting discussion to have with the local community about just what facilities we want to have for Meigle and the surrounding area and we hope the event will be well supported.”

The community consultation takes place at the pavilion from 10am until 2pm.
