Certificat­es for talented pupils

A number of pupils in Newhill Primary School were presented with certificat­es recently for performing Scottish poems.

The certificat­es were presented at a special assembly which celebrated all the hard work undertaken by pupils at the school in learning and reciting the poems.

Head teacher at the school, Fiona Patton, congratula­ted the certificat­e winners in each class, commenting that they should all be very proud of their performanc­es and thanking all the class teachers and parents and carers for their efforts in supporting the children in learning the poems.

The following pupils were presented with certificat­es: Isla Oudney and Rory Thomson (P1G); Anna Chard and India Smith (P1W); Jack Brown and Luke Parker (P1/2); Ellis Wood and Dakota Smith (P2D); Finn Carstairs and Emily Davidson (P2S); Mairi Castle and Mitchell Hogg (P3A); Millie Russell and Jack Parker (P3M); Aria Dyson and Stella Douglas (P4L), Molly Constable and Charlotte Watson (P4T); Fergie Mackey and Eilidh Duncan (P4/5); Fergus Thomson and Eva Barton (P5C); Alex Whiteford and Yasmin McDonald (P6M); Peter Rutherford and Archie Browning (P6Y); Grace Anderson and Jamie Howes (P7C); Euan Campbell and Brett Davie (P7S).

P7 pupils also took part in a Scots writing activity and the following pupils received a certificat­e: Victoria Ritchie and Monique McDonald (P7C); Euan Campbell and Arran Boyd (P7C).
