Certificates for talented pupils
A number of pupils in Newhill Primary School were presented with certificates recently for performing Scottish poems.
The certificates were presented at a special assembly which celebrated all the hard work undertaken by pupils at the school in learning and reciting the poems.
Head teacher at the school, Fiona Patton, congratulated the certificate winners in each class, commenting that they should all be very proud of their performances and thanking all the class teachers and parents and carers for their efforts in supporting the children in learning the poems.
The following pupils were presented with certificates: Isla Oudney and Rory Thomson (P1G); Anna Chard and India Smith (P1W); Jack Brown and Luke Parker (P1/2); Ellis Wood and Dakota Smith (P2D); Finn Carstairs and Emily Davidson (P2S); Mairi Castle and Mitchell Hogg (P3A); Millie Russell and Jack Parker (P3M); Aria Dyson and Stella Douglas (P4L), Molly Constable and Charlotte Watson (P4T); Fergie Mackey and Eilidh Duncan (P4/5); Fergus Thomson and Eva Barton (P5C); Alex Whiteford and Yasmin McDonald (P6M); Peter Rutherford and Archie Browning (P6Y); Grace Anderson and Jamie Howes (P7C); Euan Campbell and Brett Davie (P7S).
P7 pupils also took part in a Scots writing activity and the following pupils received a certificate: Victoria Ritchie and Monique McDonald (P7C); Euan Campbell and Arran Boyd (P7C).
