Groups get Thrifty One boost

-

Donations totalling £1500 were presented to local worthy causes last week in Alyth, thanks to the generosity of local residents.

The money was raised through the Thrifty One community charity shop on Airlie Street in the east Perthshire town.

Local toddler group Strathmore Tots and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) both received donations of £500 each, while Alyth Musical Society and the Stride for Life group each received cheques for £250.

The shop, which has been open for 14 months now, is a community enterprise supporting local Alyth charities, clubs and organisations.

Presenting the cheques, manager of the shop, Anne Wallace, thanked the local community for their support, commenting:“The volunteers work so hard and Alyth has been so generous with donating to the enterprise.”
