Cup win adds to Kettins glory

Kettins continued an impressive season with a 4-2 win over St Johns in the final of the Consolation Cup.

Bruce Wands, Ryan Burke and a double from Ross Watson sealed the silverware at Farqhuarson Park in Scone on Saturday.

The win came off the back of a league campaign which saw the men from Lindsay Park clinch the Division Three title after completing the season unbeaten.

Burrelton Rovers were the only other local side in action on Saturday.

They went down 6-0 at home to high-scoring Division One champions Letham.

There was trophy joy for Balmoral United on Tuesday last week in the Marshall Cup final.

Alan Kermath’s men defeated Kinrossie Caledonia at Blairgowrie Juniors’ ground.

The scrappy game was eventually settled in extra time, with Colin Fraser scoring with a fine 25yard effort in the 110th minute.

There are no more scheduled competitive matches for local sides this season.
