PKC housing advice centre on move

- Clare Damodaran

Members of the public are reminded that services provided by Perth and Kinross Council’s housing advice centre will move to Pullar House in Perth from Monday, July 17.

The council says that it has ended the lease on the centre’s premises at York Place in the Fair City as part of a continued effort to reduce the local authority’s property portfolio and deliver services in the most efficient way possible.

People who need to use the following services will be able to access them by visiting the reception of the main council headquarters at Pullar House on Kinnoull Street: •Housing options •Housing allocations – management of the common housing register

•Homeless assistance – assessment and investigation

•Temporary accommodation – assessment and identification

•Private sector initiatives – rent bond guarantee scheme and empty homes.

People who visit the housing advice centre may also require support from other services that are currently also based at Pullar House – for example welfare rights and benefits.

A spokesperson for the council said that the relocation of the centre will provide people with a ‘one-stop shop’where they can access all of the services they require in one place during one visit.

The teams based at the housing advice centre will continue to use the 01738 476000 telephone number and their email address housingoptionsandsupport@pkc. gov.uk.
