Entertaining programme of celebrity and local chefs in action

-

Heading the celebrity chef line-up are TV favourites Jean-Christophe Novelli (Friday) and Nick Nairn (Saturday), backed by a host of talented local chefs including Willie Deans (Deans Restaurant, Perth), Praveen Kumar (Tabla, Perth), Willie Little (Little’s Restaurant, Blairgowrie), Graeme Maxwell (Maxwell Desserts) and George Urquhart (Blair Castle).

The cookery theatre, supported by Quality Meat Scotland, will also stage a fun cookery challenge between students from Perth College UHI and the ladies of the SWI.

The area is seated so audiences can watch the demonstrations in comfort.

Relax for a full day and see a variety of celebrity and local chefs create delicious dishes using the finest Perthshire produce in an entertaining rolling programme.

Both Friday and Saturday feature completely different programmes so why not visit on both days and catch all the talent in action?  A range of pop-up restaurants featuring taster dishes from some of the area’s best loved eateries will allow visitors to buy and enjoy delicious local produce cooked to perfection as they relax in Perth Show’s new POAP dining area.  Do your shopping at POAP and then leave your goodies at the festival’s Food Creche for collection later. 

Perth Show introduced a Food Charter supported by Quality Meat Scotland in 2016 to guarantee the quality and source of meat used at the event.

Launched by leading chef Tom Kitchin, the charter means that – where possible – suppliers to the public catering and hospitality units at the event will be required to serve only locally-produced food such as quality assured Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork. 

Thanks go to all those taking part in and in particular to demonstration chefs and sponsors and supporters, including: Perth College UHI Hospitality Department; Quality Meat Scotland; Instant Image; The Fraser Bruce Group; Knock Castle, Crieff; Perth Common Good Fund; Perth Show; trade stand holders and the many volunteer helpers working throughout the two days.  Entry to Perth Show is £12 – children aged 12 and under go free (concessions: OAP £10, teenagers 1316 years £6.
