Blair BC beat Crieff to win county fours

Blairgowri­e Bowling Club’s men’s rink had a good win in the Perthshire Bowling Associatio­n Fours final on Saturday at Aberfeldy.

J Campbell, R McKenzie, W Donaldson and skip I Roberston beat counterpar­ts from Crieff.

Results from Friday, July 14, were: J Stewart 15, H Douglas 9; P Theaker 12, E Campbell 8.

Highest-up rink: G Hepburn, S Knoll, D Cushnie and skip J Stewart - six shots up.

Rattray’s Catherine Kinnear won the Angus and Perthshire singles last week at Caledonian BC with a score of 21 shots to 19.

The tight affair saw Catherine come from behind to clinch the title.

The gents section were successful in the Perthshire Bowling Associatio­n finals.

The rink of David Tolmie, John Watson, Ian Brogan and skip Sid Kinnear won the senior fours while the triple rink of Darren Neave, David Neave and Scott Pirie won their game.
