Juniors get set for new season
On Saturday Blairgowrie’s pre-season continued with a 4-1 win over Alyth AFC.
Gary Axworthy and Gordon Norrie grabbed two goals each in the match, which also featured three new signings in the squad.
New manager Mark Brash announced at the weekend the addition of Jack Dempster, Corey Gray and Lewis MacNaughton to his side.
Dempster is a left midfielder, signed from NCR AFC.
Gray is a forward and was recruited from the same club.
Lewis MacNaughton is a defender who last year played with Coupar Angus U19.
Boss Brash has been impressed with their contributions over the past few weeks.
He also recently announced the return of Mark Christison, who will perform the dual roles of player and coach.
On Thursday this week Blairgowrie will play their third friendly match of pre-season against Jeanfield Swifts at Davie Park. Kick-off is at 7pm.
This week’s berry-pickers weigh-in numbers were 14, 15, 16 and 17.
There are no winners. The prize money next week will be £450.
