Rattray win top bowls final

Senior Fours,Triples and Ladies success at Perth finals

Club’s trophy triumph at Perthshire Bowling Associatio­n finals

Rattray Bowling Club members were among the winners at the Perthshire Bowling Associatio­n finals.

A Senior Fours rink comprising David Tolmie, John Watson, Ian Brogan and skip Sid Kinnear won a close contest to take the title in Aberfeldy.

Meanwhile, there was further joy for the local club as a Triples rink made up of Darren Neave, David Neave and Scott Pirie had a more comfortabl­e win.

In the Ladies section, Catherine Kinnear won the Singles event at the Angus and Perthshire Bowling Associatio­n final at Caledonian BC in Perth.

Again, it was a close encounter – but Catherine prevailed by 21 shots to 19.

Elsewhere, the Gents rink Darren Neave, M McGilvray, David Neave and S Pirie will be representi­ng the club at the national finals at Ayr this week.

Catherine is also flying the flag for the east Perthshire club at the prestigiou­s Ayrshire tournament.

Away from the competitiv­e action, members are reminded that friendly games are still ongoing and are encouraged to come along and support the club in these.

Coaching sessions are being held on Mondays at 6pm for both adults and Juniors and everyone is welcome.”
