2018 event announced

Kieran Baxter.

The video features the excitement of the challenge, and charts the progress of the 1153 hikers who collectively covered over 37,000 miles, which is the equivalent of travelling around the Earth one-anda-half times.

It also features shots of the beautiful locations along one of the country’s best loved walking routes, including the Spittal of Glenshee and the paths around Loch Beanie.

Stefan said: “I mountain biked up to Loch Beanie and have never had so many offers to buy my bike.

“I’ll definitely remember the bike up to Loch Beanie, the hour I sat at the top of Alyth Hill at 10.30 at night waiting on someone coming through.

“Scaring the guys in Alyth Den when I was filming them in the pitch black, scenes of battered feet towards the end of the event and the mountains of fantastic food on offer around the course are among my strongest memories.

“There is no doubt this is a serious and very rewarding challenge for anyone taking part, with a real sense of achievement at the end.”

Since the event started in 2011, 4500 people have taken part in the annual challenge and raised almost £3 million for ABF The Soldier’s Charity.

Next year’s Cateran Yomp takes place from June 9 to June 10.
