Mark breaks world record
Ultra-endurance athlete and Bridge of Cally lad Mark Beaumont has smashed the record for circumnavigating the globe by bicycle, completing the 80-day challenge a day ahead of schedule.
Adventurer Beaumont completed the epic 18,000-mile cycling challenge on Monday, arriving back at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, where his journey first began 79 days ago on July 2.
The 34-year-old set a new Guinness World Records title for the feat of endurance, taking one third off the previous record of 123 days.
