High school parent council
The next meeting of Blairgowrie High School’s parent council will be held in the school on Tuesday, September 26, at 6pm.
All parents and carers of learners attending the Beeches Road school are welcome to attend the meeting and join the group.
Those involved say that a strong and active parent council benefits pupils’ education.
There was a good turnout at the organisation’s AGM last month and the committee are keen to build on that.
Meanwhile, staff at Blairgowrie High School held an information evening recently highlighting a new app that the school is using called Show My Homework.
Around 120 parents, carers and young people attended sessions to find out more about the tool, which allows teachers to set homework online and pupils to access material and help they need to complete tasks.
Show My Homework also includes parent access, meaning that parents receive alerts when homework is issued, when it is due and if it is not completed.
The aim is to encourage as much parental involvement and support as possible.
