Star power aids thriller
As strong a performance as Jessica Chastain supplies here, she’s saddled with a character that’s very hard to root for.
The star’s presence is crucial, though, as everyone else comes and goes without adding much.
A sharp script keeps things interesting and you’ll be unsure where it’s all headed right until the end. A welcome return to form for the emerald archer in the DC show’s best season since its second run.
The supernatural mumbo jumbo largely takes a welcome back seat to a more grounded, revenge-fuelled series arc. There’s less emphasis on grating romantic elements too and the writers capably juggle a colossal cast list.
