speakers - Christine, Paul and Ivy from the Blairgowrie and Rattray Time Bank - gave an interesting talk on how the Time Bank operates with people sharing their skills to help each other. Several members were interested in joining. The next meeting is Tuesday, October 3 at 7.15pm with a talk on recycling awareness. Competitions will be a recycled article in any craft, three savoury biscuits and flower of the month. All welcome.
Silvie and Ruthven: President Joy Reid welcomed everyone to the first meeting of the new session, and after the business was discussed Jackie McCowan presented Madge McCowan with a crystal decanter for the most overall points at Alyth Show. Joy then introduced Andy Patterson from Errol who gave an excellent slide show and talk about TV Times in the bygone years which brought back lots of old memories. Hostess for the evening was Evelyn Nicoll. *** Blairgowrie Scottish Country Dance Club: The club restarts this Wednesday, September 27, in Blairgowrie Town Hall at 7.30pm and hopes to see all existing members as well as new members for the new session. The club ended the last year on a high celebrating its 70th anniversary and the committee hopes that the impetus will be maintained.
