Gift to tot’s aid charity

-

Players from Coupar Angus Juniors Football Club presented a cheque for £430 recently to Sara and Steve Edwards from the charity Harlow’s Helping Hand.

Harlow’s Helping Hand is a new charity that was set up by Steve and Sara in memory of their two-year-old daughter who was tragically killed on the Forfar Road in Coupar Angus last year.

The charity aims to help families who have lost children with funeral expenses or the costs of headstones for their loved ones and other unexpected costs.

And since it was set up earlier this year, Harlow’s Helping Hand has already raised nearly £20,000 and helped a number of families.

Accepting the cheque, Sara said:“We just want to say a big thank you for the help and support and this very generous donation, it will go a long way to helping other families.

“There is a real need for the help that we offer to families and fundraising activities and donations like this are really important.”

Billy McGregor from Coupar Angus Juniors said:“We held a collection with members of the team, it was an idea the players came up with as they wanted to put something back in to the town.

“We try to run this very much as a community club, and it was the players who suggested donating the money to Harlow’s Helping Hand.”
