Attack on girlfriend

-

A Blairgowrie woman was subjected to a sustained attack by her boyfriend in a local car park, Perth Sheriff Court was told.

Brooke Kermack was confronted in the TargetTyres parking area by Steven Dickie.

First he threw a mobile phone and handbag, which hit her on the body and head, before grabbing hold of her and shaking her.

He then pushed her, causing her to fall and strike her head on the ground.

Finally he threw a broken set of hair straighteners at her, all resulting in injury.

Part of the charge, however, which alleged that the 22-year-old punched her on the head was deleted.

Because of a previous conviction for a similar offence, Dickie had his sentence deferred to enable a background report, along with a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment, to be prepared.

He admitted the assault which took place in Signal Box Road, Blairgowrie, on May 22 this year.

A not guilty plea was accepted to a further charge of breaking a set of hair straighteners into pieces and removing her belongings from his car and throwing them onto the ground.

Dickie, of Hillrise, Kirriemuir, will be sentenced on November 30 when the background to the incident will be given.

His bail was continued meantime.
