Getting craft-y at fair day

-

A pre-Christmas craft fair was held in the former Ruthven Church on Saturday.

The event saw a constant stream of buyers keen to get an early start on their Christmas shopping and browsing the range of craft work on offer.

The former church, just two miles east of Alyth, is leased to the Ruthven Parish Association by the Church of Scotland.

Thanks to National Lottery funding and further moneys from fund-raising and private trust gifts, the Ruthven Community Hall is now an excellent venue for all kinds of events from weddings to private parties, group meetings, clubs and exercise classes.

It is also the venue for the annual Ruthven Music Festival each June and September.

The next event organised by the association is what has become another very popular annual event, the Christmas Concert, an evening of music, song and story, all contributed by talented local folk.

This year the concert will be held on Sunday, December 3, beginning at 6.30pm, with mulled wine and mince pies served at the interval.

Admission to the event is by donation. Organisers are hoping for a great turnout in support.
