Cup upset is a delight for Coupar
Coupar Angus were in celebratory mode on Saturday evening after defeating North Region Super League side Montrose Roselea 3-1.
The Fox hall Park men’ s Scottish Junior Cup adventure was continued thanks to goals from Ross Wilson, Alex Gibb and Tom Casey.
Manager Logan McConachie said: “We were over the moon with the result as the guys put a huge per for mance in and adapted to the famous Montrose wind well.
“There was a big belief before the game that we would go through, as we altered the shape and plan specifically for this game.
“We’ re just happy to be through and to notch-up a wee bit of history for the club.
“There was a lot of talk of another away day after the game as we seem to get a positive result when we travel by bus!”
Coupar’s scheduled weekend match with Dundee Violet has been postponed owing to a Scottish Cup replay involving the side from the City of Discovery.
The side from Foxhall Park are hoping to arrange a friendly fixture in order to fill the void.
