Coupar Angus to host a cycle Santathon
Coupar Angus Cycling Hub is organising what they believe is Perthshire’s first ever cycle Santathon.
Taking place on Saturday, December 16, in Larghan Park in the east Perthshire town, the idea is to get as many people as possible dressed up as Santa and going for a bike ride.
The six-and-a-half-mile route is described by organisers as“fun, flat and easy”- but they added that for those who wanted more of a challenge they could see how many laps they could complete in two hours.
The route will be signed and marshalled and everyone is welcome to get involved and cycle in a safe environment at their own pace.
Everyone who takes part will get a finisher’s medal. Soup and hot drinks will also be served.
Registration and Santa suit collection is from 10.15am and the Santathon gets underway at 11am.
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children and can be booked now through the Eventbrite website. Booking fees apply. All proceeds will go towards funding the free services and activities that the Cycling Hub provides and towards improving cycling and its infrastructure in the area.
Bikes are available for hire for adults and children, including electric bikes, hybrids, road bikes and tandems.
